Expect everything to meet your personal best!

It’s a fast race designed for people looking to challenge their best performance.

We want to record everyone who sets a new PB for the distance.

And we want to set you up in the best possible way.

The Route

Our fabulous route is designed not only for speed due to its elevation, but it’s one of the most attractive routes in the world, designed to inspire you all the way.

We start at dawn near the world’s only 7 Star hotel, the Burj Al Arab, and run through the coastal palm-tree lined roads of Jumeirah.

At halfway we cross the canal bridge, as the sun pokes its head from behind the downtown towers.

We end at the magnificent Burj Khalifa where our race village, Burj Park is hosted at the foot of the world’s tallest building.

 SUPPORT POINTS

There are 6 water, medical & comfort points, at the start, end and at 4 points regularly spaced along the route.

FIRST AID

The whole Burj2Burj route is covered by Ambulance and the Race Village has many treatments for any running injury.

SECURITY

The event is run in conjunction with the Dubai Police to manage road closures and emergency communications.

SUPPORTER ZONES

It’s a race like no other, with supporter zones, live music, DJs and other fun along the way!

Gold, Silver or Bronze trophies await the male and female winners atop the race podium. For prize money, see the Elite page in our Athlete Zone. Awards for the top solo male and female overall winners in the half marathon. Plus every starting runner race running belt and every runner crossing the line receives a goodie bag, medal to commemorate the day and your achievement. As well as lots of giveaways on the day.

Anti-Doping

Anti-Doping will be at the event. All elite athletes eligible for prize money will be selected at random for testing on site at the end of the upon completion of the race. Any athletes who fail the test, he/she will not be eligible for the prize money, np finish time, they will be disqualified and also may be reposted to national federation and/or the IAAF. No prize money will be shared until results have been passed and declared with Burj2Burj race officials.

With luck this will inspire a personal best and your running year is off to the best possible start.

HOW DO I ENTER?
Entry is available online through this official registration platform and via Premier Online. REGISTER NOW

WHAT ARE THE RACE CATEGORIES & FEES?
There is only 1 general class of entry for the full half marathon distance at AED 200.

WHAT’S THE EVENT DATE & TIME?
The race commences 6am Sunday 21st January 2024.

WHAT IF I AM LATE?
Please arrive early as late arrivals will not be able to participate.

WHAT’S THE LOCATION & ROUTE?
Starting near the Dubai Police Academy, near the Burj Al Arab, to finish at the Burj Khalifa. The Route will be announced in due course.

WHY DO WE ASK FOR A PERSONAL BEST?
Burj2Burj is a fast route designed for people looking to challenge their best performance. There is a maximum race time of 3 hours to ensure the event and runners are focused on beating their time. Those struggling behind this maximum time are asked to join a courtesy bus for non-finishers. Providing a Personal Best for the distance is not compulsory, however by ticking and accepting the pre-purchase terms and conditions you have confirmed that you can complete this distance within a 3 hour timeframe.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I REGISTERED WITH PREMIER ONLINE?
However you booked, the process, communications and event terms and conditions remain the same, with the exception that if your transaction was made through Premier Online, any cancellations and refunds due to technical issues are subject to their terms and conditions.

WHATS YOUR CANCELLATION & TRANSFER POLICY?
Refunds will only be given in the event of event cancellation or technical error by Burj2Burj or our transaction partner, and purchases cannot be transferred.

WHAT’S INCLUDED WHEN I REGISTER?
Your race entry, info pack, storage of your streetwear in the 48 hours before the race, your running identification bib, and a medal for those who complete the race, with prizes for the winners and runners up in each category. Note access to the post-event Race Village on the morning of the event is open to all.

OTHER INFORMATION FOR RUNNERS

HOW WILL YOU COMMUNICATE WITH ME?
When you register we will send you a confirmation by email, followed within 3 weeks by your event entry QR code. As we get closer to the event we’ll send you periodic email updates with all the important event information. Stay up to date with all the news as it happens by following us on Facebook and Instagram.

HOW & WHEN DO I COLLECT MY BIB?
BIB collection for the Emirates NBD Burj2Burj Half Marathon will be in Burj Park from the 19 – 20 January 2024.

WILL YOU STORE MY CLOTHES FOR AFTER THE EVENT?
Yes. Drop them off when you collect your bib. We will keep your change of clothes safe and allow a bag collection process for 2 hours after the event.*Please DO NOT leave valuables in these bags and please remember to collect your belongings on time!

WHAT RACE AMENITIES WILL BE ON SITE?
From waterpoints, medical support and loo-stops en-route, to storage and gear shopping after the race, everything you need to make your race run smoothly, safely and enjoyably is taken care of. We’ll be revealing more information late in December.

WHATS IN THE RACE VILLAGE?
The Athletes Zone with medal collection, massages & more for athletes. In the main Race Village, open to all, find live music & entertainment for all plus the awards ceremony, expo retail and sponsor area, the podium for photos, food truck zone, non-alcohol beer garden, kids zone, competitions and more.

WILL THERE BE PARKING?
Yes at either the Mall of the Emirates or Dubai Police Academy. Parking will be open from 3am on race day.

HOW SAFE & SECURE IS BURJ2BURJ?
We place the safety and security of all participants and spectators above all other concerns. Rigorous procedures are in place in the case of any issue or emergency, with the strong support from Dubai Police, ambulance and other emergency services.

HOW DO I GET TO DUBAI?
Dubai has excellent direct flight connections with most countries and many visitors can simply pick up a visa on arrival. Find out more Here.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER IN DUBAI?
In January, Dubai has the perfect climate for runners, averaging 18°C, with highs of 24°C in the peak of the day, dipping to 12°C at night.

HOW DO I TRAVEL WITHIN THE UAE?
The Dubai Metro rail line runs from the airport down near the coast and you can find both the Burj 2 Burj Race Village and race start along its route. Travel is cheap and it runs from 5am on weekdays. We will share confirmed Dubai Metro timings for the race Day during January. Dubai’s taxis are also plentiful at most times and you can order those, together with more comfortable transport via the local on demand ride hailing app Careem amongst other options.

SHALL I BRING MY FAMILY?
Dubai is renowned as a global tourist attraction and has an extensive array of comfortable and luxury hotels at various price levels to delight your family. Find out what Dubai has to offer Here.

WHAT ABOUT NON-EVENT EMERGENCIES?
Accident & emergency hospital admission is free to UAE visitors, but don’t forget to ensure you have travel insurance with suitable medical cover to cover any sporting or accidental injury and impacts to your stay, travel & belongings. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT UAE SOCIETY & CUSTOMS?
The UAE prides itself on its tolerance and respect, however it helps to be aware of the culture and laws to enjoy a happy stay and not offend some cultural sensitivities. Once we announce the route, look out for details about our special fan zones where its easy to see and support your loved ones, just when they need it! We will also provide shuttles from these to the Race Village.

HOW DO I FOLLOW THE EVENT LIVE ONLINE?
We’ll be hosting a live social media stream throughout the event, so you can stay on track with the elite leaders in medal contention and everyone striving for their personal best. Follow us on social media to stay up to date with all event info and look out for interviews, shout outs and the stats that matter! Follow us on Instagram Facebook and we’ll share the link to the livestream closer to the race day.

WHAT AMENITIES ARE AT THE EVENT FOR NON-RUNNERS?
Just because you’re not running doesn’t mean you miss out. Race to find the latest running gear with our sponsors and vendors, and enjoy a range of Dubai’s best food truck fare, from healthy to ‘hell, why not, I’m worth it!’ If you ask nicely we’ll let you grab selfies on the race podium too. All the Race Village info will be released in January, so stay tuned.

HOW IS THE EVENT MORE SUSTAINABLE THAN MOST OTHER ROAD RACES?
Events can be challenging to host without causing damage, however we’re taking every step possible to ensure this race doesn’t impact the race we’re all on towards sustainability. We’re located on the Metro route to minimise car travel to and from the event and have a plastic-free solution to the waste of water bottles.

HOW CAN WE TRUST YOUR SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT?
We will have a fully independent and qualified sustainability consultant audit our carbon footprint and use of other resources. They will help us chart the roadmap to a completely net zero event. The methodology will be published and open to challenge, improvement and verification by the UAE’s sustainability community, of which we’re members.

WHAT WILL CHANGE OVER THE NEXT 2 YEARS TO REACH NET ZERO?
Watch out for carbon offsetting for international athletes and other initiatives that we develop with our sustainability advisors.

WHO IS THE EVENT RUN BY?
Burj2Burj has been created by Warrick Mac Nicol in partnership with Rebel Affair, a UAE-based event company. The team have extensive experience of running high profile and community sporting events across the UAE and Gulf.

IS THE RACE OFFICIALLY ENDORSED?
The race is fully sanctioned and endorsed by Dubai Sports Council, and has full cooperation of Dubai Police and the Road Traffic Authority (RTA).

WHY IS IT A GOOD RACE FOR PERFORMANCE-FOCUSED RUNNERS?
The race route is has been developed by runners for runners. It’s tailored for speed, with long straight stretches and few turns, plus elevations at key points to use muscles differently and thereby provide temporary rest to re- energize runners. We expect many personal bests to be beaten, and perhaps road-running records.
